The topic for the 2010 PPS Companion Meeting was decided upon by the PPS Program Committee after soliciting input from the PPS membership, and the PPS Program Committee submitted a proposal to the PPS Council for Molecular Pulmonary Pathology to be the theme of the 2010 companion meeting. The purpose of the companion meeting is to inform the audience of the most recent advances in understanding of the molecular basis of pulmonary pathology. Molecular findings in lung and pleural diseases are dynamic and ever-growing, and pathologists have a need to understand these molecular features, some of which have current diagnostic and therapeutic applications in pulmonary pathology. The objective of the 2010 PPS Companion Meeting is to enhance the understanding of the molecular basis of pulmonary pathology to pulmonary pathologists as well as general pathologists. |
