The NASHNP solicited topics of interest from current and previous officers as well as select members of the NASHNP. Several potential topics were discussed and topics selected were chosen in order to address both newly recognized diseases of the head and neck as well as focusing on tumors and disease processes that are consistently troublesome. This meeting will concentrate on select, challenging subjects. The NASHNP membership is focused on the dissemination of best practices to reduce interpretation errors and to improve quality and reporting of diagnoses.

Our needs assessment process was based on evaluation of current literature and the latest knowledge. The program is designed to meet the needs of those who routinely interpret head and neck pathology specimens.

The NASHNP is very excited about the 2011 program, one that we are confident is in keeping with the quality expected of Companion Societies, and one that we feel will appeal to a broad spectrum of pathologists in all practice settings. We will evaluate effectiveness by monitoring attendance and tracking the scope and breadth of questions and the evaluations of each speaker.
